ELP solved
and explained

EditableLP.com is dedicated to helping you understand and implement the Editable Learning Package format (ELP). Whether you want to strategize how to use ELP in your organization or add ELP support to your eLearning Authoring Tool, this website will help you move from education to experimentation, to putting ELP into practice.

What is ELP?

The “.elp” (Editable Learning Package) file format is a technical specification (standard) that defines the structure and organization of editable eLearning content. This specification establishes a series of metadata files, and an organization in folders of the educational and multimedia resources embedded in the content, which allows any Author Tool to edit a packaged content in a standard way.

What are the benefits of using ELP?

Many organizations need to be able to edit and evolve their eLearning content without depending on a specific provider or a specific authoring tool. The ELP standard allows this to be possible.

What are the technical details?

The ELP format specification establishes, on the one hand, how an eLearning content must be structured so that it can be editable, and on the other hand, how it must be embedded in a SCORM / xAPI package so that it can also be executed.

The Editable Learning Package Federation

The Editable Learning Package Federation is a federation of entities interested in the development of eLearning solutions, whose objective is to define, establish and promote a standard format for editable eLearning digital content. The goal is for any organization to have a universal editable format regardless of the authoring tool with which it was created.
